The Headley-Whitney Museum of Art in Lexington will host Andre Pater: An American Journey, an exhibit of the artist's work from Sept. 14 through Nov. 17. This retrospective exhibition will feature 80 pieces from private collections that highlight various periods of the artist's career. Subjects range from his sporting pieces, genre and historical works, and his more recent foray into Native American subjects. The exhibition's opening event will take place Sept. 13 from 5-8 p.m. and there will be an artist talk Sept. 14 at 1 p.m. The book Andre Pater: A Matter of Light will be released in conjunction with the exhibit and will be available in October.
