Galileo Gal (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), purchased for $1.4 million Sunday night at the Fasig-Tipton Night of the Stars, will be sent to Europe to be bred to Juddmonte Farms' Kingman (GB) according to her new owner, Craig Bernick.

“In my opinion, you couldn't design a better pedigree that Galileo Gal has, being a sister to Alpha Centauri (Ire),” said Bernick. “Her second dam was a champion, her third dam was Miesque, and she's set up perfectly for a Danzig-line stallion. We thought about War Front, but I think she belongs in Europe and Kingman is the best young stallion there now. I wanted to have a Kingman from that family, and I always thought if I could buy Galileo Gal that's who I would breed her to.”

Bernick said she has already gone into quarantine and would leave as soon as possible for Norelands Stud in Ireland, where Bernick boards his mares in Europe.

“I think she'll stay in Europe,” said Bernick. “Our plan would be to race fillies and sell colts out of her in Europe. It's a European pedigree, she belongs in Europe, and the best horses in the pedigree have run in Europe.”
