SANDS OF TIME (GB) (f, 2, Bobby's Kitten–Starlit Sands {GB} {GSW-Fr, GSP-Eng & Ger, $128,929}, by Oasis Dream {GB}) was sharpest from the stalls and seized immediate control of this debut. Holding sway throughout, the 10-3 chance was shaken up off the home turn and powered clear in the short straight to easily account for Spark Fury (GB) (Kodiac {GB}) by an impressive five lengths, becoming the first winner for her Lanwades Stud-based freshman sire (by Kitten's Joy). “She was sharp out of the gate and handled the track well,” said winning rider Connor Beasley after registering his first winner of the campaign. “She came round the bends lovely, quickened nicely up the straight and she was very professional. It's great to get a first winner on the board for the season, so long may it continue.” Half-sister to a yearling filly by Dark Angel (Ire), the March-foaled homebred bay is the sixth of seven foals and fourth winner out of G3 Prix d'Arenberg victress Starlit Sands (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}), who in turn is out of a GSP half-sister to G1SW sire Petoski (GB) (Niniski). Starlit Sands is herself kin to MSW Scandinavian champion Sea Dane (GB) (Danehill) and to the dam of four black-type winners headed by G1 Oaks d'Italia third Souvenance (GB) (Hernando {Fr}) and G3 Prix des Reservoirs victress Songerie (GB) (Hernando {Fr}).
