Frankel's Half-Brother Heads To The Heron

Frankel | Bronwen Healy

Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Thursday's Observations features the return of a half-brother to the outstanding Frankel (GB).

20.12 Sandown, Listed, £45,000, 3yo, 8fT
KIKKULI (GB) (Kingman {GB}) takes his chance in this Listed Chasemore Farm Stud Staff Heron S., which has come to serve as a key staging post en route to the G1 St James's Palace S. in recent times. Juddmonte's Alex Scott Maiden winner at Newmarket's Craven meeting is hot property as a half-brother to Frankel (GB) and his G1 Champion S.-winning full-brother Noble Mission (GB) and trainer Harry Charlton will be hoping for more encouragement here.

17.13 ParisLongchamp, Listed, €55,000, 3yo, f, 9fT
BAUHINIA (IRE) (Too Darn Hot {GB}) has not been seen since doubling her tally in September, having earned TDN Rising Star status on her debut when taking a mile debutantes affair here the previous month. Some water has flowed under the bridge subsequently, suggesting Godolphin's homebred is one of the better of Andre Fabre's 3-year-olds and the G1 Prix de Diane entry gets the chance to underline that in this Listed Prix Finlande.
