Fastnet Rock's Alluringly Wins the Hurry Harriet

Alluringly (purple cap) | Racing Post

Alluringly was even-money when encountering Enable (GB) (Nathaniel {Ire}) in the Listed Cheshire Oaks May 10, but connections knew little of what they were taking on at that stage and may have been surprised that she ended up on the receiving end of a beating when 1 3/4 lengths second. By the time she had finished 11 lengths behind the same rival in the June 3 G1 Epsom Oaks, it was public knowledge that the Juddmonte filly was in a different parish and she trailed her by 12 1/2 lengths when sixth in the G1 Irish Oaks at The Curragh July 15. In between, the bay had also finished sixth in the G2 Ribblesdale S. at Royal Ascot June 22 and lined up for this in need of a boost to her confidence. Held up early by Seamie Heffernan towards the back, she was delivered stand's side in the straight and got the better of the G3 Killavullan S. winner Making Light in the last 100 yards as the previously unbeaten Elegant Pose made for a classy trifecta.

Alluringly is royal blood, being a descendant of the groundbreaking Urban Sea (Miswaki) whose dam All For Glory's first foal was the G2 Debutante S. third Toogoodtobetrue (Ire) (Oasis Dream {GB}). Aside from the Epsom Derby-winning megastars Galileo (Ire) and Sea the Stars (Ire), this is a family replete with Oaks fillies of which the second dam All Too Beautiful (Ire) (Sadler's Wells) is included following her third placing in the Epsom Classic. Her daughter Wonder of Wonders (Kingmambo) went one better than Alluringly and her dam by actually placing second at Epsom, while she was also third in the Irish Oaks and won the Listed Cheshire Oaks. Another of Urban Sea's daughters, Melikah (Ire) (Lammtarra), was also third in the Epsom Oaks but second in the Irish equivalent while another of her cherished offspring Cherry Hinton (GB) (Green Desert) threw an Irish Oaks heroine in Bracelet (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}). All For Glory's 2015 filly is the Jean-Claude Rouget-trained Ballet de La Reine (War Front), who has been placed once in two starts.
