Fantastic Moon (Ger) will command €9,000 at Gestut Ebbesloh in Germany next year, Liberty Racing announced on Tuesday.

The son of Sea The Moon (Ger) won the G1 Deutsches Derby (German Derby) in 2023, as well as the G1 Grosser Preis von Baden this term. In addition, he was a group winner at two, the highest-rated German 3-year-old last year. Trained by Sarah Steinberg, he will compete in the G1 Japan Cup on Nov. 24, and possibly in the G1 Longines Hong Kong Vase in December.

“We're starting breeder-friendly: despite his outstanding performances over three racing seasons, Liberty Racing 2021 has decided that Fantastic Moon will begin with a stud fee of €9,000–regardless of his performance in the Japan Cup,” said Liberty Racing founder Lars-Wilhelm Baumgarten.

“If things go well there [in Japan], we're considering adding a run in the Hong Kong Vase. Fanta came out of the Arc in great shape and has been training excellently. We are very optimistic about the trip to Asia. The flight leaves on November 13 directly for Tokyo,” said Steinberg on Tuesday morning.
