Fanciful Angel (Ire) (Dark Angel {Ire}), runner-up at over 70-1 in the GI Arlington Million, has been sold to BSW Bloodstock on behalf of a partnership including Michael Dubb and Sol Kumin, Touch Gold Racing–the gelding's previous owners–announced Tuesday. He will be transferred to Chad Brown's stable and continue his racing career in the United States.

Most recently purchased for 135,000 Guineas by Touch Gold at Tattersalls July in 2016, the gray won of five of 23 starts for trainer Marco Botti in Europe and the United Arab Emirates. Called a “low-level bleeder” by manager Adam Driver of Global Equine Group, he was treated with Lasix for the first time in the Million and responded by running a career-high, second by a half-length to Brown pupil Beach Patrol (Lemon Drop Kid).

“Touch Gold Racing will be extremely sad to see Fanciful Angel depart, but having long believed that the U.S. style of racing would bring out the very best in him, we are extremely excited to see what he can achieve for his top new connections,” Touch Gold said in a statement.
