Regally bred Dreamologist (Tapit) makes her first start against winners Saturday in Santa Anita's GIII Autumn Miss S. Third after setting the pace in a key dirt sprint maiden at Del Mar July 16, the daughter of champion Dreaming of Anna (Rahy) was stretched out to nine panels on the turf by Richard Mandella back at that oval Sept. 4. She responded with a smashing 3 3/4-length graduation in free-wheeling style, but must contend with speed from the likes of Paulina's Love (Mizzen Mast) and a major step up in class. The versatile Singing Kitty (Ministers Wild Cat) sports a pair of stakes victories over course and distance earlier this year, and stretches back out off a down-the-hill victory in the Sept. 26 Unzip Me S. She was runner-up before that behind 'TDN Rising Star' Curlin's Fox (Curlin) in Del Mar's Sandy Blue H. Aug. 14. “She's coming into the race real well,” revealed trainer Matthew Chew, who claimed the bay for $32,000 on behalf of Aulds and Jeong out of a winning dirt sprint effort at Los Alamitos Racecourse last December. “She's proved to be very versatile, winning mile races like she has and then the 6 1/2 down the hill. That was a bit of an experiment. We weren't sure where we were going to go with her once the 3-year-old campaign was over, but we thought it was a good chance to try her down the hill and see if it would open up some opportunities down the road for us.” He added, “Our goal has been the Autumn Miss all along, so it just happened to be a very positive experiment.” Belle Hill (Sky Mesa) has never tried the turf before, but has the pedigree to take to it and rides a three-race win streak at Emerald Downs. She most recently took the Washington Oaks by five lengths Aug. 8 over Suva Harbor (Rockport Harbor). A $250,000 horse of racing age purchase at Fasig-Tipton July last year from the Eugene Melnyk dispersal, the dark bay is out of Sealy Hill (Point Given), who nearly blew up the tote at 48-1 when second in the GI Breeders' Cup F/M Turf over this same course in 2008 after being named Canada's Horse of the Year in the previous season.
