Delia Bushell, the former BT Sport and Sky executive, has been appointed the Group Chief Executive of The Jockey Club. Bushell, who has more than 20 years of experience in the field, was managing director of BT Group's TV and Sport division for three years. Earlier in her career, she spent 14 years working for Sky in various roles, including as Chief Commercial Officer of Sky Italia, Director of Broadband & Telephony for Sky UK and Managing Director for Sky Ireland. Prior to assuming The Jockey Club role, Bushell was UK CEO and European COO at Afiniti, a US tech company that specializes in artificial intelligence.
Also a non-executive director of the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and of Commonwealth Games England, Bushell is on the Advisory Board of The Telegraph Media Group. She will begin her new role in early September, and will officially succeed current The Jockey Club Group CEO Simon Bazalgette in October.
