Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Friday's Observations features a daughter of Grade I winner Heat Haze (GB) (Green Desert).

Juddmonte's COOLER (GB) (Frankel {Ger}) is a Ger Lyons-trained daughter of dual Grade I winner Heat Haze (GB) (Green Desert), herself produced by the operation's blue hen Hasili (Ire) (Kahyasi {Ire}). Opposition includes a dual threat from Ballydoyle, namely the once-raced Beginnings (Lord Kanaloa {Jpn}), who is out of MG1SW 1000 Guineas and G1 Irish 1000 Guineas heroine Winter (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}); and Warm Heart (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), who is a daughter of three-time Australian Group 1 victrix Sea Siren (Aus) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}).

Aidan O'Brien is doubly represented in all three juvenile heats on the card and sends forth RED CARPET (IRE) (Galileo {Ire}) and Wedding Bouquet (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) for this second division of the maiden. The former is out of G1 Commonwealth Cup and G1 Haydock Sprint Cup winner Quiet Reflection (GB) (Showcasing {GB}), who sold for 2.1 million at Tattersalls' 2017 December Mares sale, while the once-raced latter is kin to five black-type performers headed by G1 Derby and G1 Irish Derby-winning sire Harzand (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}).

19.00 Dundalk, Mdn, €15,000, 2yo, c/g, 8f (AWT)
BERTINELLI (Justify), the mount of Seamus Heffernan, is a half-brother to three stakes performers out of G1 Fillies' Mile victrix Together Forever (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and lines up off a promising debut second at Leopardstown last month. His nine rivals include unraced Aidan O'Brien stablemate Gooloogong (Ire) (Australia {GB}), who is a full-brother to MG1SP G2 Blandford S. victrix Cayenne Pepper (Ire).
