Classic Winner Electrelane Makes 500K

This year's G2 German 1000 Guineas winner Electrelane (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) became the subject of a bidding war between two Japanese heavyweights before selling to Shadai Farm for 500,000gns. From Ralph Beckett's Kimpton Down Stables, the 3-year-old who was also third in the G3 Fred Darling S. at Newbury was secured by the Yoshidas' operation after they outbid Eishin Farm and Atsushi Kato, vet and representative for the winning firm, commented, “She will travel to Japan now. We were looking for a young maiden mare and this is the only horse we have bid on today. She will visit one of the Shadai stallions, a decision has not been made as to which yet.”
