Amo Racing Buys Frankel Trio For Combined 4,200,000gns, Led By 2,500,000gns Full-Sister To Chaldean

A Frankel filly made 2,500,000gns, a record shared with a full-brother to Derby winner Generous set in 1997 | Tattersalls

A Frankel (GB) full-sister to multiple Group 1 winner and Classic hero Chaldean (GB) (lot 945) sold for a joint-record 2,500,000gns to Amo Racing at Tattersalls. The new sales topper is out of the winner Suelita (GB) (Dutch Art {GB}). The chestnut is also a half-sister to G2 Mill Reef Stakes hero Alkumait (GB) (Showcasing {GB}) and his stakes-winning full-brother Get Ahead (GB) (Showcasing {GB}), who was second in the G1 Flying Five Stakes. Lot 945 was bred by Whitsbury Manor Stud.

The record price was set in 1997 for a full-brother to Derby winner Generous (Ire) (Caerleon) at the December Foal Sale.

Earlier in the sale, a Frankel colt caught the eye of Amo, who shelled out 850,000gns for a son of Breeders' Cup heroine Audarya (Fr) (Wootton Bassett {GB}) at Tattersalls. Sold as lot 936 by Genesis Green Stud, the colt was bred by Mrs. A. Swinburn. He is the second foal out of dam, who also won the G1 Prix Jean Romanet. International star Jim And Tonic (Fr) (Double Bed {Fr}) is also part of this clan, as is GI Beverly D. Stakes heroine Mauralakana (Fr) (Muhtathir {GB}).

Amo was also in action for lot 943, a daughter of Frankel, just a handful of lots later, also for 850,000gns. Part of the Hazelwood Bloodstock consignment, the A. Denniff-bred is the first foal of her dam, who won at listed level and is a half-sister to the multiple group winner Beat The Bank (GB) (Paco Boy {Ire}), who also ran second in the G1 Queen Anne Stakes.
