A Look Ahead With Hugo Palmer

Hugo Palmer | Racing Post

As part of an ongoing series, TDN caught up with trainer Hugo Palmer to get his views on the 2017 season.

Horse you are most looking forward to seeing this season?

HP: I am lucky that the majority of my leading lights have remained in training and I'm really looking forward to seeing them back on the track this summer. I am particularly excited by the unbeaten Crimean Tatar (Tur) (Sea The Stars{Ire}) and hope that we have a clearer run with him this year.

A stallion who could feature prominently (doesn't have to be first season)?

HP: Dawn Approach (Ire) appeals to me as a stallion who should get lots of 2-year-old winners. I love the ones that I have and hope they run like their appearance and breeding suggests they should. Camelot (GB) too had lots of stunning yearlings and it would be disappointing if there were not high-class horses among them.

Positive change you would like to see for the industry in 2017?

HP: It will never happen but I wish we could solve the problem of the increasingly weekend -loaded fixture list.
