He will face fellow Romans trainee Speedy A.P. (Lemon Drop Kid), a Calumet Farm homebred, who is out of SW & MGISP Fircroft (A.P. Indy), from the same family as champion North Sider (Topsider). Debutante Decmeister (Bodemeister) will represent Tom Walters and trainer James Baker. Stonestreet Stables LLC's K J WARRIOR (Tapit) headlines this Spa grass maiden. Hailing from new Hall of Famer Steve Asmussen's barn, the grey was snapped up for $575,000 as a KEENOV weanling and is out of MSW J Z Warrior (Harlan's Holiday). She in turn, is a half-sister to GISW A Z Warrior (Bernardini), and GSW & GISPs Jojo Warrior (Pioneerof the Nile) and E Z Warrior (Exploit). Gary Barber's Black Canary (War Front) was also a hit at the sales, blossoming from a $110,000 KEESEP RNA yearling to a $425,000 OBSJUN 2-year-old after breezing a furlong in :10 flat, as the lone representative of her sire at the sale. The Mark Casse charge is a out of a GSP half-sister to GISW Cat Moves (Tale of the Cat) and another half-sister produced GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner Hootenanny (Quality Road). Bellavais (Tapit) could also make some noise from the Jimmy Toner barn. The Phillips Racing Partnership homebred sports a pedigree synonymous with high-class turfers. Out of GIII Athenia S. victress La Cloche (Ghostzapper), herself a half-sister to MGISW Winter Memories (El Prado {Ire}), the chestnut's seconddam is MGISW Memories of Silver (Silver Hawk). The $300,000 FTNAUG yearling fired a three-panel bullet in :36 4/5 over the turf here Aug. 22 and is a half-sister to GISW Regally Ready (More Than Ready), who has already earned north of $1.8 million. Second dam Vilikaia (Nureyev) was a GSW in France and placed at the highest-level in both the G1 Irish 1000 Guineas and G1 Prix l'Abbaye de Longchamp. TJCIS PPs
