Boynton On Track For National

Boynton | Racing Post

Godolphin's G2 Superlative S. winner Boynton (More Than Ready) will be seen next in action in The Curragh's G1 Goffs Vincent O'Brien National S. at The Curragh on Irish Champions Weekend Sept. 11, according to trainer Charlie Appleby. Boynton broke his maiden at first asking at Goodwood June 3 before following up in the Superlative, and lost his unbeaten record when third as the highweight in the G2 Vintage S. July 26

“Boynton is going to go for the National S.,” Appleby confirmed. “I think the track will suit him and I am quite happy to take him to Ireland. The track slightly beat us at Goodwood and he was unlucky not to get the run he wanted to. When he broke his maiden there it was over a straight six [furlongs], but last time it was the first time that the horse had encountered a turn.”

“I was pleased with the way he galloped out carrying the three-pound [penalty] the last day as well,” Appleby added. “I thought it was a good performance.”
