True Flare is a half to GSW & GISP Apple of Kent (Kris S.) and MGSW War Zone (Danzig). Eddie Kenneally sends out Nancy W. & Mark H. Stanley's firster Spicy Temper (Unbridled's Song), a gray filly who brought $215,000 as a Keeneland September yearling. Her dam, Bayou Breeze (A.P. Indy), is a stakes-winning half to Japanese millionaire Meteorologist (Jpn) (Golden Missile), while her second dam is a half to MGSW & $1.8 million earner Lu Ravi (A.P. Indy). Suzanne Stables' homebred debutante Mean Irene (Scat Daddy) is a half to the speedy sprinter Mean Season (Henny Hughes) and has worked quickly, most recently breezing a half-mile May 31 over this track in :48 (4/20). A handful of imposing firsters litter this strong maiden heat, led by Arnold Zetcher and Coolmore's SUPERVISOR (Super Saver), a sophomore colt who sold for $440,000 as an OBS March 2-year-old after breezing one furlong in :9 4/5 (video). His dam is a half to MGISW General Challenge (General Meeting), GISW Notable Career (Avenue of Flags) and MSW & GSP Western Hemisphere (General Meeting). This is also the female family of MGISW Evening Jewel (Northern Afleet). The chestnut has worked steadily on this surface since the end of March, most recently blowing out a bullet three furlongs in :34 1/5 May 30. DP Racing's Brilliant Light (Smart Strike) makes his debut for the Jim Cassidy barn. The bay colt sold for $350,000 as a Keeneland September yearling and is out of South African Champion 3-year-old filly & MG1SW Irridescence (SAf) (Caesour). That mare is also a full-sister to MG1SW Perfect Promise (Saf). Bob Baffert will be represented by three runners, including Kaleem Shah's homebred firster Americanize (Concord Point), who drilled a best-of-30 five furlongs from the gate here in :59 2/5 May 30.
