Generation Galop held its general meeting Sunday in Saint-Cloud before an audience of 80. The organisation renewed its board of directors and presented its projects for the coming years.

The new board is comprised of Georges Rimaud (president), Herve Morin (vice-president), Christian de Villeneuve (secretary) and Chryss O'Reilly (treasurer). Rimaud said, “I strongly believe the general public needs to approach horses closer. The breeding industry offers great opportunities that will help build the relationship with horses.”

Generation Galop's goals include forming working groups on subjects including engaging the general public and racegoers, improving the owner experience and optimizing collaboration with other racing organizations. The groups will also consider how to work on the attractiveness and competitiveness of French racing and breeding, in particular ways to maintain prize money levels.

Generation Galop will also offer its members a wider range of services, including the subscription to a public liability insurance for owners, regular communication and the organisation of special events.

“We plan to gather our members around dinners or conferences on various themes related to breeding, training, legal aspects and sanitary questions,” said Rimaud.
