Curragh Racecourse Limited submitted a planning application for its comprehensive redevelopment with the Kildare County Council Friday. The redevelopment, announced in October, will see the racecourse get an estimated €65 million facelift under the new ownership of Curragh Racecourse Limited, which is comprised of three groups of shareholders: The Turf Club, Horse Racing Ireland and private investors. The project will include a new grandstand, weigh-room, parade ring and stable yard, as well as a new arrivals and reception area. A separate investment program will be put into place for the training grounds. The construction is expected to be completed in 2018, with racing continuing throughout.
