The second and third choices in the wagering at 3-1 and 7-2 respectively, the two threw down through fractions of :21.88 and :44.89 and opened up a sizable gap back to third once they spun off the far turn and came for the wire head and head. It was Prime Power who blinked first, yielding any advantage he once had in the final yards as Gunmetal surged to victory by 1 1/4 lengths. Fanatical (Nyquist) was a further 7 1/4 lengths back in third.
