Charlie Boden, Head of Sales for Darley beginning in 2006, will leave the company July 1. Boden has been instrumental in managing top stallions like Street Cry (Ire), Medaglia d'Oro and Bernardini and has also helped Darley top the leaderboard of all American farms by number of mares bred on multiple occasions.

“I've enjoyed nine thrilling years at Darley, working with some of the best brains in the business,” said Boden. “It's been extremely stimulating to work in a global organization inspired by Sheikh Mohammed's ambition; a fabulous experience, a great education, and many lasting friendships made. Best of all, it's been my enormous good fortune to have spent so much of the last decade in the company of Darley's clients, who include the very finest breeders of racehorses in the world.”

John Ferguson, Sheikh Mohammed's bloodstock advisor commented, “Charlie is not only one of the most knowledgable and wise men in Kentucky, he's also one of the most likeable. He walks the walk and talks the talk, and no one better proves the adage that the thoroughbred business is, first and foremost, a people business. We wish him every success and happiness in the future.”
Added Jimmy Bell, Darley's President, “It has been a great run with Charlie here at Darley. His integrity and commitment to the company have been both beneficial and exemplary. We look forward to working with him as he moves toward a new frontier in his career.”

Boden has yet to decide where he will proceed from here and has no immediate plans.

“Participating in the formation and emergence of Darley as a major stallion station in America has been a tremendous experience and one that arms me with unique skills. The excitement of the horse business is why I wake up early every morning and I am looking forward to exploring the opportunities that might present themselves over the next few months. As the breeding season winds down and the yearling sales season gears up, it is a good time to make a change and I'm excited about the possibilities.”
