Lone Eagle (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), beaten a neck into second by Hurricane Lane (Ire) (Frankel {GB}) in the 2021 G1 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby, will be offered on the Goffs Online platform in a timed auction Nov. 21 and 22.

A 500,000gns Tattersalls October yearling, the son of the stakes-winning and American Grade III-placed Modernstone (GB) (Duke of Marmalade {Ire}) won three of his four starts at two, including the G3 Zetland S. for trainer Martyn Meade and had future US champion and GI Breeders' Cup Turf hero Yibir (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) four lengths behind when taking out the Listed Cocked Hat S. at Goodwood last year. He was an 11-2 chance with Frankie Dettori aboard for the Curragh feature and just missed while finishing well clear of the third. Lone Eagle has been stakes-placed in three runs this term for Freddie and Martyn Meade.

“Goffs is delighted to be entrusted with this important sale for this international owners group and look froward to keen interest from around the globe,” said Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby. “An immediate sale of this nature is a speciality of Goffs Online and our much lauded platform makes it easy for bidders regardless of location.”

The online sale of Lone Eagle will comence at 12 noon UK time on Nov. 21 and will close 24 hours later. Registrations for online bidding will open later this week. For more information on the sale, please contact Goffs on +353 (0)45 886600 or Goffs UK on +44 (0)1450 372222.
