End of an Era at Juddmonte

Philip Mitchell has today announced that he will be standing down as General Manager of Juddmonte Farms later this year. During the next six months, he will work with the Juddmonte team to ensure a smooth transition. Mitchell, based primarily at Banstead Manor Stud in Newmarket, has been part of the world class organization for 27 years and has overseen the careers of such luminaries as Frankel (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), Kingman (GB) {Invincible Spirit {Ire}) and Oasis Dream (GB) (Green Desert), among others. “I could not have worked for a more knowledgeable or fairer person than Prince Khalid Abdullah to whom I am indebted,” Mitchell said. “I am very proud of what we have achieved here. I am confident that Juddmonte will continue to thrive going forward and will be working with the team to ensure the continued success of this great organisation.” Douglas Erskine Crum, CEO Juddmonte Group, added, “Philip is not departing for six months, but it is not too early to say, on behalf of everyone connected with Juddmonte, a very big thank you to him. Philip has been at the heart of Juddmonte's success and established himself at the very top of the worldwide breeding industry. He has guided the operation with professionalism, skill and humour and is rightly widely respected.”
