Michael Tabor and Rachel Hood's Christophermarlowe (Tapit), the unbeaten winner of the Investec Derby Trial at Epsom Apr. 22, is among the 14 entries for Saturday's Listed Derby Trial S. at Lingfield.
“Christophermarlowe goes to Lingfield on Saturday for the Derby Trial,” said trainer John Gosden. “We've put him in the [G3] Chester Vase [May 7] as well, but he'd only run there if it was a monsoon at Lingfield.”
Christophermarlowe, who is a general 16-1 for the G1 Epsom Derby, could face up to five from Ballydoyle, including the stakes-placed winner Order Of St George (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), and the entries also include Godolphin's Future Empire (GB) (New Approach {Ire}), twice group-placed and second to Christophermarlowe at Epsom; and recent 10-furlong maiden winner Storm The Stars (Sea The Stars {Ire}).
Aidan O'Brien's G1 Fillies' Mile winner Together Forever (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) headlines the Listed Oaks Trial S. on the same card, and the Ballydoyle master has also entered Wedding Vow (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), second to Saturday's G1 1000 Guineas scorer Legatissimo (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}) in the Listed Victor McCalmont S. Apr. 26.
