Floral Splendour (GB) (Farhh {GB}), a winning 3-year-old filly out of Red Tulip (GB) (Kheleyf, brought a sale-topping 36,000gns from Castle Construction North East, Ltd. during the Tattersalls Online September Sale on Wednesday. Lot 26 was consigned by Jamesfield Stables, while her second dam is the listed winner Red Carnation (Ire) (Polar Falcon). Floral Splendour's dam is a half-sister to GIII Knickerbocker S. hero Legendary (GB) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}). Under the third dam is the stakes-winning Red Fort (Ire) (Green Desert), who was placed in both the 2005 and 2006 editions of the GI Charles Whittingham Memorial H.

“I am really excited with the filly and I think the new trainer will be too,” said Colin Dorman, who bought Floral Splendour. “She will go to Iain Jardine. She will go straight there so Iain can have a look at her and she will spend the winter at Cliff Stud. I was looking for something that hadn't been raced much that we could start off with next year. She has only had a couple of races and has won once and I thought that was good form for a filly. Hopefully we can build on that next year. She comes from a good trainer and they have decent horses. We are very much looking forward to racing her on.”

Lot 7, the placed National Hunt prospect Jipekaa Machin (Fr) (Saonois {Fr}) was knocked down to Donald McCain for 35,000gns. The 3-year-old gelding was consigned by Hugo Merienne's Ecurie H. Merienne.

“We are very happy with the sale and wish his new connections every success with him,” said Merienne. “We have sold a couple of horses online this year and it is a great way to reach a wider audience. We wouldn't have physically taken the horse to a sale in England at this point so selling through Tattersalls Online made a lot of sense.”

Rounding out the top three lots was an Elzaam (Ire) 5-year-old gelding, Wonder Elzaam (Ire) (lot 17). Offered by Alliance Bloodstock, the bay is rated 93 and has four wins to his name. He was purchased by Yousef Alturaif of Saudi Arabia.

At the close of trade, 18 lots changed hands for a gross of 175,800gns. The average was 9,767gns and the median was 4,500gns.
