It didn't take long for Friday's third session of the Tattersalls December Foal sale to surpass the 2010 top bid of 320,000gns when Coolmore's Demi O'Byrne went to 375,000gns for a son of Galileo (Ire) out of SP Guaranda (GB) (Acatenango {Ger}). Bred by Plantation Stud and December Bloodstock and consigned by Plantation Stud, hip 799 is a full brother to Group 3 winner Gravitation (Ire) and is out of a half-sister to the top stayer MG1SW Fame and Glory (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}). Ed Sackville opened the bidding at 100,000gns and was joined soon after by Ibrahim Araci and later Charlie Gordon-Watson. But with just two bids from a doorway surrounding the ring, O'Byrne struck his winning blows.
