Galileo Colt a Second Million-Dollar Baby

A couple of hours before landing the day's session-topping colt by Oasis Dream (GB), Coolmore's Demi O'Byrne went to 600,000 (about US$1,014,000) for a colt by Galileo (Ire). Bred and consigned by Ireland's Rockfield Farm, the Apr. 14 foal is a son of Kitza (Ire) (Danehill), who was trained by Aidan O'Brien to a victory in the 1998 Derrinstown Stud 1000 Guineas Trial and runner-up efforts in that year's G1 Irish 1000 Guineas and G1 Irish Oaks. The Galileo colt is the second foal produced by the mare for Rockfield, who went to 550,000gns to acquire Kitza in foal to Pivotal (GB) at the 2006 Tattersalls December sale.
