David Wachman's G1 1000 Guineas winner Legatissimo (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}) is set for a rematch with her two subsequent conquerors in the G1 Qatar Nassau S. at Goodwood Aug. 1. Since her day in the sun at Newmarket, Legatissimo was caught in the final strides at Epsom by Qualify (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) and just failed to catch Diamondsandrubies (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) when dropped to 10 furlongs in the G1 Pretty Polly at The Curragh.
With Aidan O'Brien planing to send both Qualify and Diamondsandrubies to Goodwood for the Nassau, Wachman is eyeing a revenge mission.
“We're happy with her and Goodwood is the plan at the moment so hopefully everything stays fine until then,” Wachman told At The Races. “The winner won well in the Pretty Polly, there were no excuses, we were beaten fair and square but we'll try again in the Nassau.”
