Saturday's G1 QIPCO 2000 Guineas will be contested by 15 colts after the final declaration stage on Thursday, with Aidan O'Brien trimming his team down to three after opting to withdraw St Mark's Basilica (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}). The operation's expected favourite Wembley (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) will break from stall eight in the middle, with the G1 Goffs Vincent O'Brien National S. and G1 Dewhurst S. runner-up joined by the G1 Criterium International winner Van Gogh (American Pharoah) alongside in nine and Battleground (War Front) widest towards the stand's side in 15. Chantal Regalado-Gonzalez's National S. scorer and TDN Rising Star Thunder Moon (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}) will exit from stall 10, while Shadwell's fellow TDN Rising Star Mutasaabeq (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}), who enjoyed the “golden rail” when earning this tilt in a conditions race over seven furlongs at the Craven meeting Apr. 13, is towards that fence again in 12. Of the established trial winners, Michael Pescod's Chindit (Ire) (Wootton Bassett {GB}) who took the Apr. 18 G3 Greenham S. at Newbury is also on that side in 14, while Godolphin's Master of the Seas (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) who is favoured by William Buick over One Ruler (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) will bid to complete the Apr. 15 G3 Craven S.-Guineas double from stall two. Drawn nearby in four is Jim Bolger's Apr. 11 Listed 2000 Guineas Trial S. winner Poetic Flare (Ire) (Dawn Approach {Ire}), who heads to Newmarket instead of the G1 Futurity Trophy hero Mac Swiney (Ire) (New Approach {Ire}), while the third withdrawal was Ballydoyle's Military Style (War Front). Ryan Moore will ride Wembley, with Frankie Dettori on Battleground and Seamie Heffernan aboard Van Gogh.
