Triple Crown winner Justify (Scat Daddy) was represented by his first foal the evening of Friday, Jan. 3, when Foreign Affair (Exchange Rate) produced a bay filly at Amaroo Farm in Kentucky, Coolmore reported on its website. She was bred by Audley Farm, who acquired Foreign Affair for $385,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton November Sale.
“She's got great bone and plenty of leg, a quality first foal for the mare. We couldn't be happier,” said Audley Farm's Jamie McDiarmid.
The filly is the first produce for her dam, a half-sister to So Perfect (Scat Daddy), a dual Group 3 winner in Ireland, twice Group 1-placed in Ireland and in England, runner-up in the G1 Prix de l'Abbaye and third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint. The extended female family includes multiple Grade III-winning 3-year-old Cowtown Cat. The filly's second dam, Hopeoverexperience (Songandaprayer), was sold for $1.8 million in foal to Into Mischief at the 2018 Fasig-Tipton November Sale.
The first book of mares bred to Justify in 2019 included 41 Grade I winners, the most of any North American sire.
