Brenda Kay Allen Jones, a well-respected horsewoman, lifelong animal lover, and devoted and beloved mother, passed away Thursday after a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family in her final hours. Along with her husband Don, they had a successful breeding operation of show horses and quarter horses, and also found great success with Thoroughbreds, including the buying and selling of yearlings and 2-year-olds. There will be a celebration of life in her honor held Monday, July 30, at 6 p.m. at Golden Hills Country Club in Ocala, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance or the American Cancer Society.
