Off as the 7-5 favorite to go one better in this first try over the synthetic, he broke sharply and was hounded to his outside by first-time starter Bizzee Channel (English Channel) through fractions of :23.41 and :46.49. Those two continued to throw down throughout the stretch, with Manny Wah wanting it a little bit more, getting the nod by a hard-fought neck. He becomes the third winner for his freshman sire (by Unbridled's Song). Manny Wah is the first foal out of Christiana S. winner and GI Darley Alcibiades S. third Battlefield Angel, a half-sister to the stakes-winning 2017 GI Kentucky Derby runner-up Lookin At Lee (Lookin At Lucky) and a full-sister to this year's GIII Peter Pan S. winner Blended Citizen. She had a colt by Uncle Mo in 2017, a filly by Pioneer of the Nile this year and was bred back to Arrogate. She RNA'd with Manny Wah in utero for $190,000 at the 2015 Fasig-Tipton November sale.
