The Michael Halford trained 3-year-old Irishcorrespondent (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) has been sold to continue his racing career in Hong Kong. Unraced as a juvenile the Ballygallon Stud homebred made an immediate impression this year, winning his first two starts before running with credit when third behind Churchill (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in the G1 Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas at The Curragh in May. He then performed slightly below expectations when fifth in the G3 Hampton Court S. at Royal Ascot last month. Revealing on his website that bloodstock agent John McCormack had purchased the colt on behalf of a client in Hong Kong Halford wrote, “Irishcorrespondent was a very good horse for us and I'm sure that he'll do well for his new connections over there. We are sad to see him go. He was a pleasure to have around the place, he is a high class horse and I wish his new connections well.”
