Catch a Flight (Arg) (Giant's Causeway), a dramatic last-gasp winner of Saturday's GII San Diego H., will make his next start in the Aug. 22 GI TVG Pacific Classic, trainer Richard Mandella confirmed Sunday.

“He is a hard trier,” Mandella said of the 5-year-old. “He doesn't have anybody over a barrel and he doesn't win races by a big margin. But he's getting better and better every race.”

Catch a Flight is owned by Brazilian businessman Julio Bozano who has been involved with Thoroughbreds for more than three decades.

Trainer Bob Baffert said that San Diego third and fourth-place finishers Bayern (Offlee Wild) and Hoppertunity (Any Given Saturday) would also be heading to the Pacific Classic, but runner-up Appealing Tale (Tale of the Cat) will skip the rematch.

“The horse ran unbelievably well, Joe [Talamo] rode an excellent race and even in defeat I'm very happy,” trainer Peter Miller said of Appealing Tale. “He's come out of it well and now we'll look at the [Aug. 22 GII] Pat O'Brien.”
