The Last WORD: Joe Foley is one of Irish Racing’s most prominent figures. Having set up his Ballyhane Stud some 25 years ago, Joe has built up a strong stallion roster as well as being a successful breeder and pinhooker. He has served as chairman of the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association and is currently a board member for Irish Champions Weekend. Alayna Cullen went to visit Joe at his County Carlow base. If you could have personally witnessed anything, what would you want to have seen? Either Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech or the Thrilla in Manilla. Glass half full or half empty?
