- 1. I'm
having trouble getting Today's Edition. What steps should I
follow?
- To get Today's Edition,
following these steps:
- After you have successfully logged into the TDN site with
your User ID and Password, select the large red button 'Today's
Edition Click Here' located on the top left-hand side
of the TDN members homepage.
- This should start your download of the edition and you
should see a pop-up box notifying you that the download
has started.
- Within a few minutes (depending on your connection speed)
your computer should launch Adobe Acrobat Reader and your
edition should be loaded on the page for you to view and
print. It may appear as if the page is not responding, but
after the short wait your edition should load. File download
time will vary daily based on the size of the day's edition.
The main problem surrounding the download of the daily edition
of TDN seems to involve some problems with Adobe Acrobat Reader
software. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your
machine, and for best results, the version should be the most
current. A free download of the most current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader is available by clicking here. After downloading
the program, follow the installation instructions included on
Adobe's Website. If you continue to have difficulty with getting
the day's edition, please keep reading the FAQ or give us a
call at (732) 747-8060.
NOTE: For persistantly problematic connections and downloads, one solution that we recommend is opening your TDN edition (particularly on slower connections) by :
- Right-clicking your mouse (shift-click for Mac users) on the 'Today's Edition-Click Here' red button in the top left corner.
- Saving the file (selecting "Save Target As..." or "Save Link As..." in the menu box) to an easy to find location on your computer.
- In this manner you can track the status of the file download as it progresses.
- Once complete, you then must locate the file in the directory that you saved it in on your computer and open it with Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- 2. I have
clicked on the 'Today's Edition-Click Here' button and
nothing is happening? Why?
- In most cases, while
it may appear that nothing is happening, your computer is most
likely preparing to open Adobe Acrobat Reader and your daily
edition. This may take several minutes based on file size and
your computer's connection speed. We recommend giving the download
a few minutes to open, and if it does not, there may be a configuration
problem. In this case, please make sure that you have the most
current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (available
for download by clicking here). If problems persist,
please call us at 732-747-8060 for assistance.

Player is also recommended, and the TDN Website will be using
